Videonotify: Fast Web Note ("we", "our", or "the Extension") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension and associated Web Application collect, use, store, and protect your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information required to provide note-taking and video bookmarking functionality:

• Account Information: When you sign in, your email address and authentication credentials are managed securely via Supabase Auth.
• User-Generated Notes & Timestamps: Note text, exact video playback timestamps, chapter titles, page titles, and URLs of the pages on which you explicitly choose to take notes.
• Custom Collections: Names of collections created by you to organize your notes.

2. Chrome Extension Permissions & Usage

The Extension requests only the permissions necessary for its single-purpose utility:

• sidePanel: Opens the dedicated side panel for taking notes alongside your active webpage.
• activeTab & tabs: Reads the active webpage's URL and title only when you open the panel or take a note, so the note is linked to the correct page. General browsing history is never recorded.
• storage: Caches notes and preferences locally in your browser for instant load times and offline support.
• identity: Enables optional OAuth sign-in with Google.
• content_scripts: Communicates with video players on the active page via direct messaging to pause, play, or capture playback timestamps when you use keyboard shortcuts.

3. How We Use and Protect Your Data

• No Third-Party Data Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data or browsing activity to any third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.
• No Advertising or Tracking: The Extension does not inject ads, track user activity across websites, or collect analytics for marketing.
• Secure Cloud Synchronization: When authenticated, your notes sync over encrypted HTTPS connections directly to your Supabase PostgreSQL database.

4. Data Retention, Export & Deletion

You maintain full ownership and control over your data at all times:

• Export: You can download a complete JSON backup of all your notes and collections at any time from the Settings menu.
• Deletion: You can delete individual notes, entire notebooks, or clear all data directly from the application interface.
• Uninstall: Removing the extension immediately purges all local cached data from your device.

5. Limited Use & Policy Compliance

Videonotify: Fast Web Note adheres to the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the User Data Privacy Policy and Limited Use requirements. The use of information received from Google APIs complies with Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect service improvements. Any updates will be posted directly to this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp.
